Terms of use
These terms are the agreement between you and [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], which operates SlashedRx. We have tried to write them so that you can actually read them.
Accepting these terms
By using SlashedRx you agree to these terms and to our privacy notice. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
Who can use SlashedRx
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a contract. SlashedRx is offered in the United States and is not directed at people outside it.
You may look up medications for other members of your household, including children, provided you are the adult responsible for doing so.
What the service is
SlashedRx is an information service. You tell us a medication you have been prescribed and what you currently pay; we check the savings sources we cover and show you what we found, along with the eligibility rules attached and where each figure came from.
Searching is free. A paid membership unlocks the full detail behind each option — the provider, how to obtain it, and the complete eligibility rules — and lets you save medications and re-check them.
SlashedRx is not a pharmacy, an insurer, a pharmacy benefit manager, a prescriber, or a healthcare provider. We do not dispense, sell, or ship medication, and we do not process insurance claims.
Not medical advice
Nothing on SlashedRx is medical advice, and using it does not create a provider-patient or pharmacist-patient relationship. We do not decide what medication you should take, whether to start, stop, or switch one, or what dose is right for you.
Consult a licensed physician, pharmacist, or other qualified professional before changing anything about your medication. In an emergency call 911. The disclaimer sets this out in full and forms part of these terms.
Your account
You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for activity under your account. Give us accurate information, and tell us promptly at [SUPPORT EMAIL] if you think someone else has gained access.
Your password is held by our authentication provider. We never see it. If you lose access, use the password reset link rather than asking us for the password, because we do not have it.
Membership and payment
Membership is offered at:
- $9.99 per month, billed monthly
- $79.99 per year, billed annually
Prices are in US dollars and exclude any tax that may apply, which will be shown before you pay. Payment is processed by Stripe. We never receive or store your card number.
There is no free trial. If we ever introduce one, its terms will be disclosed before you sign up for it.
Memberships are not switched on yet.
Searching is currently free and no payments are being taken. These payment terms describe how membership will work when it becomes available.
Automatic renewal
A membership renews automatically until you cancel it. A monthly membership renews every month; an annual membership renews every year. Each renewal is charged to your payment method at the price then in effect, on the renewal date, without further action by you.
Before you pay for the first time, the checkout page shows the amount, the billing interval, the fact that it renews automatically, and how to cancel. We ask you to agree to those terms specifically, not merely to accept this page.
We will send you a reminder before an annual membership renews, and we will give you advance notice before any price increase takes effect, with instructions for cancelling if you do not want to continue.
Cancelling
You can cancel at any time, online, from your account. Cancelling takes as few steps as subscribing did — there is no phone call, no email to support, and no retention script.
Cancellation stops future renewals. Your membership stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for, and then does not renew. You keep access until that date.
You can keep using SlashedRx for free after cancelling. Searching does not require a membership.
If a payment fails, we may retry it and may suspend membership features until it succeeds. We will tell you if that happens.
Refunds
Our refund policy forms part of these terms.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the service, another account, or our infrastructure
- Conduct security testing without our prior written permission
- Share, sell, or misuse account credentials
- Scrape or bulk-extract our content by automated means
- Interfere with or overload the service, or attempt to deny access to others
- Use fraudulent, stolen, or unauthorized payment details
- Impersonate anyone, or misrepresent your eligibility for a savings or assistance program
- Use the service for any unlawful purpose
- Introduce malware or otherwise attempt to damage the service
None of this is aimed at assistive technology. Screen readers, magnifiers, voice control, and other accessibility tools are welcome and are not “automated access” for the purposes of these terms.
If you believe you have found a security vulnerability, please tell us at [SUPPORT EMAIL] rather than exploiting it. We will not pursue anyone who reports a genuine issue in good faith and gives us a reasonable chance to fix it.
Intellectual property
The SlashedRx software, interface, design, original written content, logo, and name belong to [LEGAL ENTITY NAME]. So does the way we organize, group, and present savings information. You may use the service, but not copy, reproduce, or build a competing product from those things.
We claim nothing over what is not ours. Medication names, manufacturer names, and program names are the trademarks of their owners and appear here to identify what they refer to. Data published by the FDA, the National Library of Medicine, and CMS belongs to the public. Content on third-party sites belongs to those third parties.
Third-party services
SlashedRx links to independent organizations — manufacturers, pharmacies, and assistance foundations. They set their own prices, their own eligibility rules, and their own terms, and they are not under our control.
We are not responsible for their acts, omissions, products, or content. A program appearing in your results is not an endorsement of the organization behind it.
Limits on price and savings information
Prices and savings shown on SlashedRx are estimates unless explicitly labelled as verified, and even a verified figure carries the date it was checked. Prices, eligibility, and program terms change, and the final price is determined by the pharmacy, provider, or program — not by us.
We do not guarantee that you will save money, that you will qualify for any program, or that a displayed price will be available to you. We do not claim to search every pharmacy or every program that exists, and there may be a better price from a source we do not cover.
Automated systems and AI
SlashedRx uses AI for one job: when you search, it reads the drug manufacturer’s own public savings page for that medication and reports what the page says about the program — the benefit, who qualifies, and any insurance restrictions. It reads the page at the time you search rather than repeating a summary written months ago.
Everything else is ordinary deterministic software that queries a fixed set of sources, normalizes everything to your quantity, groups options by type, and sorts each group by price.
An AI-sourced result is not an offer and not a price quote. It is a report of what a third party’s web page said when we read it. Models misread pages, and manufacturers change programs without notice. Every AI-sourced result is labelled as an estimate, carries the page it came from and the time it was read, and links to that page so you can check it. The manufacturer’s own terms govern the program, not ours, and we are not a party to it.
The system is not permitted to send you to any destination outside our fixed list of approved sources, to present anything it produces as a firm price, or to answer any clinical question. It is never asked whether a medication is suitable for you, whether you should switch, or what you should take.
“Best” and “cheapest” in our results mean the lowest-cost option among those we found. They never mean the medically best option for you.
What information reaches the AI provider, and what does not, is set out in the privacy notice. In short: a drug name and the text of a public page, and nothing that identifies you.
Ending this agreement
You can stop using SlashedRx at any time and delete your account from your account settings.
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, that is being used fraudulently, or where we are required to by law. Where it is reasonable to do so we will tell you first and give you a chance to put it right. If we close your account without cause while you have paid for a period, we will refund the unused part of it.
Warranty disclaimer
SlashedRx is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, that third-party data will be accurate or current, that any program will remain available, that prices will not change, or that our results are complete.
Some states do not allow certain warranties to be excluded. Where that is the case, this section applies only as far as the law allows, and your statutory rights are unaffected.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, and except where it cannot lawfully be limited, neither we nor our suppliers are liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, arising out of your use of SlashedRx — including in relation to third-party pricing, inaccurate third-party information, a savings option turning out to be unavailable to you, or interruption of the service.
Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, or one hundred US dollars.
Nothing here limits what cannot be limited.
We do not exclude or limit liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for anything else that applicable law does not permit to be limited. Some states do not allow the exclusion of incidental or consequential damages, and in those states these limits apply only to the extent permitted.
Indemnification
If your misuse of SlashedRx — using it unlawfully, breaching these terms, or infringing someone else’s rights — causes a third-party claim against us, you agree to cover the reasonable costs and damages that result. We will tell you promptly about any such claim and let you participate in its defence, and we will not settle it in a way that imposes an obligation on you without your agreement.
This does not apply to claims arising from our own conduct, and it is limited to what the law permits.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of [GOVERNING LAW STATE], without regard to its conflict of laws rules.
There is no arbitration clause in these terms.
We have deliberately not included binding arbitration or a class-action waiver. Both are common in consumer terms and both are decisions with real consequences for you, so neither will be added without deliberate consideration and legal review — and if one is ever added, it will be announced as a material change rather than slipped in.
Before starting a formal dispute, please contact us at [LEGAL EMAIL]. Most things are faster to fix than to litigate.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The effective date and version at the top of this page change when we do. For material changes we will give notice — by email to registered users, or prominently in the product — before they take effect, and where the law requires renewed agreement we will ask for it rather than assume it.
If you do not agree to a change, you can stop using SlashedRx and cancel any membership.
