Those are decisions for a licensed physician, pharmacist, or other qualified healthcare professional who knows your situation. Talk to one before changing anything about how you take a medication.

An information tool. You tell us the medication you already take and what you pay for it; we check the savings sources we cover and show you what we found, with the rules attached to each option and where the figure came from.

Every option we show is a way of paying for the medication you were already prescribed. We do not suggest alternatives and we do not invent them.

Where the FDA lists a generic as equivalent to the exact medication you entered, we will tell you it exists, and we will link you to the FDA’s own record so you can check it yourself.

That is a statement about what the FDA lists. It is not a recommendation that you switch, and it is not a judgement that the generic is right for you. Whether substitution is appropriate depends on you, and that is a conversation with your pharmacist or prescriber.

SlashedRx uses public data published by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the National Library of Medicine, and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. Using data those agencies publish does not mean they endorse, certify, review, or are affiliated with SlashedRx. They are not, and we would not claim otherwise.

We distinguish three different things, and we label which one you are looking at:

• A price read from the source — a figure taken from the organization’s own published page or API, shown with a link to that source and the time it was read.
• An estimated price — derived from published data, adjusted to the quantity you told us. It is an estimate and is labelled as one.
• Potential savings — the difference between what you told us you pay and the best option we found. It is potential, not promised.

The price you actually pay can differ from anything shown here, because:

• Prices change, and can change after we checked
• Pharmacies set their own prices and they vary from one to the next
• Program terms and eligibility rules change without notice
• Where you live affects availability and price
• Dose and quantity affect price
• Your insurance status may make you eligible or ineligible for a program
• Some programs require you to apply, and to be accepted
• The pharmacy, provider or program — not SlashedRx — determines the final price

SlashedRx checks a specific, finite set of savings sources: cash-price pharmacies we have integrated, FDA generic equivalence data, federal pricing datasets, and manufacturer and assistance programs read from those organizations’ own pages at the time you search. Every result page lists the sources that were actually queried for that search, including the ones that came back with nothing.

We do not search every pharmacy in the country, every discount card, or every program that exists. Anyone claiming to do that is claiming something no one can verify. There may well be a better price somewhere we do not cover.

Nothing here is confirmed by hand. A program appears in your results because it was read from the organization’s own official page — by our software, at the time of your search — and every such result carries a link to the page it came from and the time it was read. We would rather you check the source in one click than take our word that somebody checked it once.

One exception, stated rather than buried: a small number of manufacturer program records were entered when this catalogue was first built, and they are still shown. They are labelled “From our records” and carry the date they were entered, which may be weeks ago. They are not independently verified, they do not carry the mark a live reading gets, and they drop out of your results as the same programs get read directly. If one looks out of date, the link on the card goes to the manufacturer’s own page, which is always the authority.

That is a real trade. Reading a page automatically is current in a way a human review from three months ago is not; it is also capable of misreading a page in a way a careful person would not. Which is why the link to the source is on every result, and why we describe these as estimates rather than quotes.

When you follow a link out of SlashedRx, you are going to an independent organization — a manufacturer, a pharmacy, or an assistance foundation. They operate independently of us. They have their own terms and their own privacy practices, and they control their own prices, eligibility rules, and whether they fill your prescription at all.

We cannot guarantee their performance, and information they publish may change after we read it. A program appearing in your results is not an endorsement of that organization; it means we found the program on that organization’s own page.

From memberships, and only from memberships. SlashedRx has no affiliate relationships, no referral fees, no lead-generation arrangements, no pharmacy or manufacturer partnerships, and no sponsored placements. Nobody pays to appear in your results or to rank higher in them.

If that ever changes, we will disclose it clearly and conspicuously at the point where it could affect what you see — not in a footnote here. Paid placement will never be presented as an objectively best savings result.
